No Peace On Earth

THE LEDGER – Laveau, Louisiana
By Camille Dupont, Staff Writer

LAVEAU — Holiday cheer was nowhere to be found beneath the bayou as Bayou Brawls: Santa’s Sack Edition delivered a night of festive violence, shredded nerves, and blood-soaked tradition. Before a single blow was struck, fighters were forced to plunge their hands into Santa’s infamous sack, rummaging blindly through its depths to draw their weapons at random. Whatever fate handed them became their burden to wield. The tunnels rang with laughter, screams, and steel as combatants stepped into the pit armed by chance, not choice, to settle grudges and claim dominance in one of the season’s most unhinged events.

Two matches. No mercy. No goodwill.

MATCH ONE: Yingyue vs. Olivia

The opening bout came fast and feral, with both fighters wasting no time before spiked bat and crowbar kissed skin. What began as cautious circling quickly devolved into a flurry of strikes, boots scraping concrete and blood streaking the floor. Olivia pressed the advantage early, forcing Yingyue back with relentless pressure. A desperate counter nearly turned the tide, but a brutal final exchange left Olivia grounded and unable to continue.

Winner: Yingyue

MATCH TWO: Belial vs. The Cannibal

The second match brought the crowd to its feet as experience collided with raw aggression. Axe versus meat hook flashed in tight quarters, each fighter refusing to give ground. Cheers turned to gasps as a vicious strike drew heavy blood, painting the pit in red. In a moment that silenced even the loudest spectators, Belial capitalized on an opening and ended the bout decisively, leaving their opponent broken but breathing.

Winner: Belial

A BLOODY SEASONAL TRADITION

As the echoes faded and medics dragged the wounded from the pit, Santa’s Sack cemented itself as another infamous chapter in bayou history. Victors stood bloodied, the defeated were hauled away, and the bayou claimed another night of violence for the season.

Holiday spirit may rule above ground – but below, the bayou still demands blood.
